Been the Maid of honour is very special make sure you follow the duties to make the day a special day
Maid of honour Duties:
You will be helping to take some of the burden of the wedding planning off the Brides shoulders, but don't worry most of your duties are the fun ones.
Here's what you might be expected to do;
Going to different locations with the bride, to see how suitable they are for her wedding and have a chat with the people who are going to be in charge on the day.
Help the bride to choose her stationary and volunteer the put names and addresses on them, if needed to.
Offer help in choosing decorations and favours for the wedding, and help her work out timelines for getting these items delivered.
Go with the Bride to choose her Wedding dress and the bridesmaids dresses, and to subsequent fittings.
Help the Bride with the seating arrangement. Always bring a copy of the list or diagram with you to the reception.
Plan the Bridal shower and Hen Party.
Help keep the other bridesmaids in line.
Here are some of the duties you have for the big day:
Be at the Bride's parent’s house in the morning to help the bride with her dress, hair and makeup.
Make sure the Bride has something to eat before the ceremony (It may seem like a petty thing to do, but she will be a bag of nerves and it's a long and stressful time for her, until dinner.
Ensure the Bridesmaids are ready on time
Try to visit the reception venue in the morning, to make sure there are no problems.
Make sure the bride gets to the ceremony on time, with everything she needs, e.g. something old, something new, etc, veil, bouquet, etc.
Be there for the bride before the ceremony and find her some privacy, if she needs it. Help her with her veil and train before she walks down the aisle.
Witness the signing of the marriage licence
Be at the reception in the receiving line
Prepare the bridal suite with the other bridesmaids (Chocolates, Champagne, Rose petals on the bed, etc)
Make sure the bride gets away in time for her flight.
Return any borrowed or hired items after the wedding.
Make sure you have something to eat and have a good time don’t let the nerves and stress take over let you hair down and enjoy the day!
